Related Videos: Hello barátom Mexicano Perhaps it never occurs to Tibor Tatrai to make an own band if there isn't Tamas Kovacs(bass-guitar), the "3rd wheel" of the Tatrai Torok tandem. Because Tamas Kovacs found out the Tatrai Band. It was a good idea, because the name of the most famous guitar player in Hungary was enough to arouse people's interest. It was even than true, when public expected a violin quartet to the concert place... The first album title was "Szerencsekerek". It was made in 1987. But the band didn't have so much lucky. The band's singer was Jozsef Vertig (who had died later). The new life of the band begun 2 years later, when the old music mate Charlie Horvath became the front man of the band. Geza Palvolgyi joined the band as well. But the success didn't come so fast. They had to wait for it, till the born of the New York song. But since than they didn't stop. The country tour always finished in the Budapest Sport Hall or in the Congress Centre. The Tatrai Band was making albums one after the others, mean-time the members were changed. (The members of the band were: Peter Csiszar - saxophone, Janos Solti- drum, Jamie Winchester - guitar and song, Edina Toth - song, Henrietta Czerovszky - song). And most of the albums became gold. The band made an own sound. The bases of this sound were the 2 composers: Tatrai's and Palvolgyi's own music-world. The well-educated musicians and the special voice of Charlie made the band very successful. But don't forget, the lyric-writer!! Because lot of people were caught the message of the songs. Tamas Kovacs wrote the lyrics till hi has left the group. After that Peter Pal Hetesi was the lyric-writer... Tibusz's own band spent 11 years on the top. But for the rest-time they have to wait more and more.. The Tatrai Band didn't say good by with such a loud voice. Because the members knew that they will continue the common playing. They will come together only if everybody wants that. As Tibor Tatrai said, the band is sleeping its winter-dream. But we don't have to wait for the spring for a long... Tibusz and the Tatrai Band Mr Kovacs had found out the band. After that we established it. But it wasn't so good that the members were young men. So I decided that later I would play only with old foxes. And all was in vain. In spite of the experienced musicians and the good songs nobody was interested in our music. Once, when we had a concert in Kazincbarcika, only 11 people bought ticket. But it come out that 11 people could give frenetic applause... It was interesting, that we didn't change our music, but we could get to the top, and we stayed there for 11 years. The New York song brought us everything what a band can reach.
